There are two options for accommodation for the Cohorts and Consortia: From Biotechnology to Populations conference.

The Rimrock Resort Hotel:

The Rimrock Resort Hotel is in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. With the breathtaking mountain and alpine view, this hotel peers down at the Banff Town site. The Rimrock Resort Hotel offers comfort and luxury in its smoke-free environment and superb hospitality. Relaxation can found at the Banff Hot Springs only a short walking distance from the Hotel. This hotel is conveniently located in the same building as the conference rooms, which are only a few floors away allowing travel from your room to the meetings quick and easy.

Triple and quadruple accommodation is available at an additional cost of $33.00 per person, per day. The Rimrock Resort Hotel allows a maximum of four adults per guest room.

A service charge of $8.00 per person, per day has been included in room rates to cover porterage and housekeeping. All room rates are subject to a 4% provincial tourism levy and the 5% GST. All tax structures and percentages are subject to change without notice.

Reservations and Room Guarantees:
(Please read the following to understand reservation requirements)

1) To make a reservation please call 1-800-661-1587 to speak to a Reservation Agent. Inform the Reservation Agent that you are with GLOBAL COHORTS & CONSORTIA in order to receive the group rates.

2) Reservations require a valid major credit card number, cheque or a money order equal to one night’s room and tax, made payable to the Rimrock Resort Hotel. Deposits must reach the hotel a minimum of 10 days prior to arrival.

3) An Early Departure fee of $75.00 plus 5% G.S.T. will be the responsibility of the individual guest.

3) The Rimrock Resort Hotel will extend the above group rates, three days before and three days after the conference dates of June 17, 2009 to June 19, 2009 subject to availability.

4) Cancellation must be done before June 6, 2009 in order to ensure a full refund. If cancellations occur after this date the guest will not receive any refund.

The Fairmont Banff Springs:

Known as the ‘The Castle in the Rockies’, the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel has provided the unique blend of luxurious comfort, individualized service and timeless beauty for over a century. Located in the Town of Banff, this hotel offers excellent hospitality, three unique dinning areas, pool, golf and spa facilities (dinning, golf and spa facilities are not included in the accommodation fee). The dining experience at the hotel includes traditional, regional and contemporary meals that offer health conscious cuisine and magnificent steaks. A weekly dining guide will be provided to you upon arrival.

This hotel is only a 14 minute walk to the Rimrock Resort Hotel and is located on the Route 4 Tunnel Mountain bus route (Banff Springs Hotel is stop number 13 ). Take this bus to the first stop downtown (Stop number 16), cross the street and transfer to the Route 3 Sulphur Mountain bus route (Stop number 9). This bus will take you to the Rimrock Resort Hotel (S top number 35 ). Please note that schedules are likely to change for the spring/summer and a direct bus route may be available between the Banff Springs Hotel and the Rimrock Hotel. There are two options of travel from the Calgary International Airport to town of Banff.
